There are so many memorable female villains in film history. Yet, they don't get the credit and praise they're rightfully due. The allure of those underrated female villains and wicked women will always be worth discussing. 

Female villains can both change a story, or define it. And they're not always super evil either. In fact, many times there can be redeeming or sympathetic qualities to find in them. More times than not they're outcasts, rebels, or even anti heroes. It's women, in a sense, who have cornered the market on interesting antagonists in movies. There's no specific name for a male villain in a horror or thriller. Yet when that description references a women our society has a well known and ubiquitous label, the femme fatale.
