What, you might rightly ask, qualifies me, a man, to write about movies featuring mothers and daughters? Well, first of all, I am the father of six daughters so I know how complex the relationship between mothers and daughters can be. It’s tough to catch their nuisances on film, so here are my favorite mother and daughter films.
What is it about mothers in film? Walt Disney often did away with them, devastating the protagonists (like Bambi), and in many other films, moms are responsible for their children’s general angst and irritation.
