Back before we were parents, my husband and I loved going to the movies. We loved the ritual of ordering a popcorn tub the size of your head (or bigger) and a couple hours of undisturbed comedy or action craziness. Of course, once we had our son, our movie nights were limited. So now we catch up on all the latest and greatest with DVD Netflix. Sure, it’s not quite undisturbed and the popcorn isn’t quite as buttery, but it’s still pretty fantastic!
DVD.com just came out with their Top 10 Rented Movies of 2017, so I’m taking this chance to add some new movies to my queue from the list.
Here’s DVD.com's Top 10 Rented List of 2017:
And here is what I will be adding to MY queue and why:
Does the whole world have a crush on Gal Gadot right now? As Wonder Woman, she’s basically the most beautiful creature I’ve ever seen! In this movie, Diana (aka Wonder Woman) leaves her protected island home and fights alongside men in a “war to end all wars.” I actually had the opportunity to see Wonder Woman in the theater this year, but still added it to my queue for a second (or third) viewing. I think my son will really enjoy it and I love that I can show him, yet again, how awesome women can be!
I follow Zach Braff on Instagram, so I followed along with all his posts when he was directing Going in Style. It seemed like he and the actors had such a great time on set and the movie looks really funny, too. The premise is that three elderly friends are cheated out of their pensions and decide to rob a bank and go to Las Vegas. A caper movie is always fun, but add in Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, and Alan Arkin… well, I’m there!
I am a huge X-Men fan, so I’ve been dying to see this Wolverine movie. I wasn’t able to see it when it was in the theater, so it has been added to my queue for home viewing. It’s actually being shipped to my house this week! In this movie, Wolverine’s healing abilities are waning and he is paired up with a female clone created from his DNA. Can. Not. Wait!
I know going into this one that I’ll probably be watching it with my hands over my eyes. But the summary on DVD.com sounds so intriguing: “Though Kevin (James McAvoy) has revealed 23 personalities to his psychiatrist, there remains one still submerged who is set to materialize and dominate all the others. Compelled to abduct three teenage girls, Kevin reaches a war for survival among all of those contained within him—as well as everyone around him—as the walls between his compartments shatter apart.” I hadn’t even heard of this movie before I saw it on the Top 10 list, but now I’m really interested in seeing where it takes me.
