I am a huge fan of getting mail. To me, it’s exciting for me to walk up to the mailbox, open it, and see what’s inside. I normally just get bills and junk mail, but when we live in a world where there’s a subscription for everything, you betcha I have signed up for makeup boxes, clothing, and more! Some services I just like to try. Most I cancel, but there has been one subscription that I won’t cancel – and that’s with DVD Netflix.
This comes as a surprise to people when I tell them it’s my favorite. There are countless streaming services out there… so why do I refuse to give up DVDs? To me, the service is not only convenient, but it’s a community. Let’s just get to it.
Where else can you choose from a selection of TENS of thousands of titles, unlike a few thousand on streaming services? Yes, streaming is great and instant, but what if you have an itch to watch a classic like Gone With the Wind? What do you do if you have a course assignment and need to see The Godfather? Or, you just heard all of your friends say how amazing Bohemian Rhapsody was and it’s not on streaming yet – where do you get it? DVD Netflix has a massive library of movies and tv shows for you to choose from. They not only have the classics available to rent, but new releases are available on DVD way faster than they are on streaming (if streaming ever even gets it). Plus, streaming has limited options available… DVD Netflix is where it’s at! Tons of movies and TV shows to choose from AND you can select between Blu-ray (have you ever seen Game of Thrones on Blu-ray? You can actually see what’s going on with detail and it’s amazing) or regular DVDs with many of the titles.
One Stop Shop
In the past year, everyone has been talking about The Handmaid’s Tale and Game of Thrones to the point I was excited to watch them. The problem? They are all on different streaming service providers. Unless I’m going to pay to start a new subscription for each service (not happening, btw), I don’t get to see them. So guess who saved the day?! DVD Netflix. They had the full seasons of both The Handmaid’s Tale and Game of Thrones and all I needed to do was select the “Add to Queue” button. Boom. Done.
The website is ridiculously easy to use. There is also an app. You can move movies around in your queue depending on what you feel like watching for the week. Need a laugh? Just rearrange your queue to move a comedy up to the top. It’s all so simple. If you have a phone or computer… you instantly have access to a library of thousands and thousands of titles.
But that’s not all. How many times has a storm knocked out the WiFi? Live in a spotty area? It doesn’t matter with DVD Netflix. With a DVD, you won’t get your connection interrupted. There’s no buffering. It’s reassuring to know that my movie viewing experience won’t get interrupted if rain comes!
Yep – I said it. This brand does community well. Check out the hashtag on Twitter (#DVDNation and #DVDNetflix) and take a look at all of the posts from customers as well as the company. DVD Netflix partners with movie bloggers and fans to host bimonthly Twitter chats on different topics ranging from romantic films to comedies to action flicks. It’s so fun and easy to browse the content and blogs they share AND connect with fellow movie lovers. Plus, from time to time they run contests for a chance to win awesome movie swag!
It’s all about the mailbox
Don’t feel like running to the store to return your movie at the kiosk within 24 hours? Or did you forget to return your rental and now you have a hefty late fee? With this service, it’s all about the mailbox (and no late fees ever!). Once you return your rental, the next film you have in your queue will show up within a few days. Poof. It’s like magic and you don’t have to think about it or go anywhere. You create your queue, just set it and forget it. The little red envelope comes straight to you automatically and you get to hold on to it for as long as you’d like! It’s so easy! Plus, who doesn’t like to get mail?!
Your couch is the best theater
DVD Netflix has provided my entertainment for countless lazy Sundays, friend nights, date nights, and overall wine-in-hand-and-wind-down-from-the-day nights. Since I don’t have to leave my home to run and get a movie, I have more time for popping popcorn, making a cheese tray, and cuddling with my fur babies. With the endless genres of films to match any mood, DVD Netflix adds to the home theater experience.
I went to the movies last weekend and for two people our tickets were over twenty dollars. The last time I did pay-per-view cost me around nine dollars. What the heck!?!?! DVD Netflix has plans starting at $7.99 a month for unlimited rentals per month. Yup, I said it. $7.99 for access to a massive library of titles. When everyone was raving about how amazing A Star is Born was, I added it to my queue, received it as soon as it hit DVD, and saved the twenty bucks I would have spent seeing it in theaters. The low cost is just another amazing perk to this service!
