I’m so excited that fall is finally here… which means that Halloween is right around the corner! Back in college, Halloween costumes used to mean dressing up as a ‘sassy’ version of something. But now that I’m a mummy and I prefer to keep my goodies wrapped up (get what I did there!?), my costume inspirations are a bit more PG… or even G.
Here are my top 5 movies to inspire some pretty great Halloween costume ideas!
This could be a super fun costume idea for a group going out together! Stop by the thrift store and try on the loudest and pinkest bridesmaid looking dresses you can find. Bonus points if one of you wants to be the ‘bride’ in an old wedding gown!
Here’s a costume you may already have in your closet: jeans, a couple of shirts, a red puffy vest, sunglasses and sneakers. That’s right, Marty McFly! Bonus points if you carry around a skateboard with no wheels. The best part about this costume – on top of the huge amount of quotes available – is that you will totally be comfortable all night long.
There are so many fantastic ‘90s clothing options here. In fact, just re-rent the movie because it’s pretty spectacular. I’m pretty sure the whole ‘90s aesthetic is coming back, so you can probably find the perfect Cher outfit at one of those cheapo places in the mall!
Cut open the neck of an old sweatshirt so that you can stick a shoulder out, add tights (or shorts), legwarmers and a super important cotton sweatband. Now… go be a maaaaaniaccccc!
Wreck it Ralph is one of my family’s favorite movies and we are so excited for Ralph Breaks the Internet. We did an easy family version of Ralph, Fix it Felix and Vanellope for Halloween a couple years ago and it turned out pretty great:
What is your favorite movie-inspired Halloween costume?
