Rick: As a designer, I watch shows and movies via DVD Netflix while I work all day. It allows me to lose myself in the creative process. Trains of thought in my imagination are sparked that might not have otherwise come to me. It's a great way to change 'work' into 'fun.'
DVD: Your working style sounds unique! Can you tell us a little about what makes it special?
Rick: I have this unique working style where Netflix DVD is a productivity tool. I work as a graphic designer, so I put a movie on and think: “Okay, by the end of this two hours, I need to have this, this, and this done.” It’s kind of like i’m racing against the clock. Like say, in an action thriller.
Sometimes, I just need to continuously come up with new ideas. So, if I’m watching a movie that maybe has nothing to do with what I’m designing, it takes my mind in (and the creative part) down different avenues of thought.
DVD: Movies at work! What does your boss think of your unique style of working?
Rick: I’ve been doing it for so long, it’s woven into how I work. The bosses who understand that, I tend to want to work a lot more for. And if I had to stop, it would be quite a shock to my working process.
DVD: Why do you love watching movies while you work?
Rick: Time just flies by as I work away at designing something while watching great shows with Netflix DVD. At the same time, I often set myself the objective of finishing a certain task by the time a movie or episode ends. Because of DVD Netflix, I have the best job ever!
