Are you ready for this? I am about to shock you right now. Or, as the kids say, you are going to be SO SHOOK with this information.
Jennifer Aniston is turning 50 on February 11th.
That’s right, America’s sweetheart from Friends is turning the big 5-0… and she barely looks like she’s aged a year since she played Rachel!
In celebration of her birthday, I thought it would be fun to visit my top five favorites with Jennifer Aniston!
Synopsis: In a comedy that jabs at corporate life, Peter conspires with his cubicle cohorts to embezzle money from their soulless employer. With help and hindrance from his peers, including quotable nerd Milton, Peter might find his sanity and his revenge.
My Thoughts: Oh my gosh, do I love this movie. For anyone who has worked in an office, this movie just hits so close to home that it’s scary. Even now… 20 years after it came out, it’s pretty typical to hear friends quoting from Office Space. Or wanting to beat the beejezus out of a copying machine with a baseball bat.
Synopsis: A wannabe lead singer gets to live his wildest dream when he's whisked from anonymity to being the front man for the enormously popular band he worships. But he soon discovers that life in the fast lane isn't what he expected.
My Thoughts: Sure, Jennifer isn’t the main character in this movie (Mark Wahlberg is), but she holds her own. I’ve seen this movie probably a half dozen times at this point and it’s one of those movies that if you flip past it on TV, you get sucked in all over again.
Synopsis: When a small-time pot dealer gets mugged, he needs to find a way to pay back his supplier. Agreeing to smuggle in a major stash from Mexico, he rounds up a fake family to act as his cover, and they head for the border in an RV.
My Thoughts: I was not expecting this movie to be SO FUNNY and I laughed my way through the whole thing. Jennifer Aniston and Jason Sudeikis have some fantastic chemistry and this goofy comedy is totally worth watching.
Synopsis: Saddled with chronic pain, Claire Simmons has kept a sense of humor, even if it's of the acidic, angry variety. Upset but gripped by curiosity when a member of her support group kills herself, Claire decides to excavate the truths behind the suicide.
My Thoughts: This isn’t your typical fluffy Jennifer Aniston movie, but a drama that shows what a great actress she can be. She was actually nominated for a Golden Globe and a Screen Actor Guild Award for this movie. I loved it when it came out in 2015 and I just put it in my DVD Netflix queue to watch again.
Synopsis: The hit NBC sitcom, about the trials and tribulations of a group of close-knit chums living in Manhattan. Follow along with Ross (David Schwimmer), Rachel (Jennifer Aniston), Chandler (Matthew Perry), Joey (Matt LeBlanc), Phoebe (Lisa Kudrow), and Monica (Courteney Cox) as they prove that friendship is the tie that binds.
My Thoughts: Did you know that you can get Friends from DVD Netflix!? I recommend starting with The Best of Friends: Vol. 1 and working your way through the whole show. Sure, some of it is quite dated… but so many of the jokes hold up even in 2019!
