Dolly Parton is one of those people who immediately is defined by the word SPUNKY! She is celebrating her birthday on January 19th so, in her honor, I thought it would be fun to check out some of her movies.
Of course, she’s not just about movies. Dolly is a singer-songwriter, actress, author, and philanthropist. She was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1999 and has composed over 3,000 songs. Dolly is an eight-time GRAMMY winner and will be honored next month at the 2019 MusiCares Person of the Year Tribute. She is also one of only a few people to have received at least one nomination from the Academy Awards, Grammy Awards, Tony Awards, and Emmy Awards.
One of my favorite things about her is the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, a book gifting program that mails free books to children from birth to age five! She started the Imagination Library in 1995 and the program now spans four countries and mails over one million free books each month to children all around the world.
Let’s take a walk through four of Dolly’s biggest movies.
