All-time favorite movie?
The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring. I have loved Tolkien's story since I was a teenager and I even had the chance to live part of it out through Live Action Role Play in New Hampshire. I watched the animated tales countless times and when it finally became a live-action film on the big screen, I was thrilled. I will never forget opening night of The Fellowship of the Ring; it's the high point of my movie-going life.
Movie that reminds you of your childhood?
Stand By Me. It's not the only one, but it's the first one that comes to mind. I spent a large portion of my childhood playing around train tracks and trestles in the woods where I grew up in Rhode Island.
Go-to genre on movie night?
Fantasy. I have always loved the high tales of magic and adventure. The best ones feel like a part of long-lost history.
What could you watch endlessly?
Monty Python and the Holy Grail. There are MANY movies that I could watch again and again. One of them is definitely Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
Favorite movie quote?
I don't have a single favorite, since I love to quote films. However, here's a great one from a hilarious movie called What We Do in the Shadows:
Vladislov: "Is Peter coming? Should we wait?
Viago: "Peter is eight thousand years old, we're not going to have Peter at the flat meeting."
I can't really say I have a favorite director....
Action scene that gets your adrenaline pumping?
The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King. The scene during the battle of Pelennor Fields, when King Theoden arrives with the armies of Rohan, to the defense of Minas Tirith.
“Let this be the hour when we draw swords together. Fell deeds awake. Now for wrath, now for ruin, and the red dawn. Forth, Eorlingas!”
Scary scene that keeps you up at night?
I really love horror movies, especially "creature features." There are so many scenes that have terrified me. But if I had to pick one... It would be Open Water. When they know the sharks are circling..... Sheer horror....
